Midnight Queen: Polygirl by ExGemini

“Maia, do I really have to do this? Please? I said I was sorry. Olga said it was just a joke. Please don’t make me,” Paulina Wilson, better known to the rest of the world as Polygirl asked her companion.

Beside the four-armed heroine, Maia Yezhov looked on stoically. Her face bore a look of grim determination as she silently stared at Paulina.

“It was all Olga’s idea anyway. I was just helping her. I can’t do this. Please just give them back to me and I promise I will never help Olga play a joke on you again. Please?” She looked up at Maia, hoping to see some softening of the big woman’s expression.

Maia just continued to give Poly a cold determined look. It was all she could do to keep from smiling. Years of military discipline served her now as she listened to Poly try to talk her way out the mess she was in. Finally, she uncrossed her arms and pointed towards the door leading to photo studio. “Let’s go, if you ever want to see them again,” she threatened. “First, it might not be so bad for you to live a little. Fly your freak flag for once.” She looked at Poly, who wore an uncomprehending expression on her face. “You know, get out of your lab once in a while and do something wild?”

“I did Maia. Just last month Brandi and I went to Meta-Con in Keystone City. You should have seen the awesome Storm Trooper costume I made. It was perfect. I also had this really great Ewok costume but Brandi didn’t want to wear it for some reason. But still, we had such a great time. They had this Babylon 5 discussion group that…”

Maia held up her hand to forestall more of Poly’s travelogue. “Second, at least you won’t be going out there in clothes that have been sabotaged to fail as soon as the lights hit them. And you get to keep the lingerie when you are done. Who knows, you might meet some guy you like and it will come in handy. If you know what I mean?” Maia’s smile died at Poly’s look of confusion. “So why don’t you go get it done. And then you get back everything.”

Paulina looked torn. She glanced at the door and tried to quell the butterflies dancing in her stomach. There was no way she would ever dream of doing this. But Maia had left her no choice. Paulina had returned to her apartment earlier to find Maia waiting for her. The heroine known as Walkiria was all smiles and friendly until Paulina noticed that her entire collection of superhero action figures was missing. Even the rare ones of Freedom Star and Ultrawoman during their heroic phases. Her entire collection had been cleaned out. That was when Walkiria explained to Poly that in order to get them all back she would have to go to the photo shoot Maia had arranged for her. Poly had tried to talk her way out of it, but Maia had been adamant. Until Paulina posed, her beloved action figures were being held hostage.

Now Paulina found herself dressed in a custom made set of lingerie from Mayhew’s exclusive boutique. The clothing was exquisite but completely unlike anything Paulina owned much less ever dreamed of wearing. But at least it seemed tasteful and covered enough of her body that she would still be able to show her face in public after this was over. So under Maia’s stern observation Paulina walked out into the studio to serve her penance for participating in Olga’s prank.

“See, that wasn’t so bad. Was it?” Maia asked as she watched Paulina slip back into her usual coveralls. The only reply she received was a sullen stare, as the four-armed technical wunderkind got dressed. “Paulina, you can’t tell me that wasn’t at least a little fun.”

Paulina tied her boot and turned towards Maia. “Are you happy now?”

“Yes, you did great out there. You really are a lot prettier than you give yourself credit for. Once the book comes out, you are going to have to beat off the boys with a stick.”

“So… My action figures?” Paulina asked.

Maia smiled and gestured towards one of the adjoining dressing rooms. “See for yourself.”

Paulina scampered into the dressing room and looked around. “Yes!” she exclaimed excitedly as she started to take inventory. They were all there; the Fantastic Lin, the limited editions of FireBrandi and Soviet Superwoman, the Dark Star with kung fu grip. Everything seemed to be there and intact, including the ones still in their original boxes. One item however stuck out. A package wrapped in brightly colored paper sitting in the midst of her collection. She looked puzzled as she glanced over towards Maia.

“Go ahead, open it. Just to show you there are no hard feelings.”

Paulina grabbed the package with one hand and ripped the wrapping paper off with her other three. “Oh my God! Don’t tell me… Is this ? It is!” Paulina squealed with excitement as she looked at the contents. “How? Where did you find this? It isn’t supposed to be available for a couple of months. Thank you, thank you, thank you!” she said, nearly vibrating with glee. Paulina held the box up, practically dancing with joy. “An authentic Lady Liberty action figure, with the bonus costume! How on earth did you get a hold of one? The official release date isn’t until July 4th.”

Maia smiled and came over to give Paulina a quick hug. “Well, I called in a couple of favors. Like I said, no hard feelings. But don’t you let Olga talk you into helping her with another one of her pranks. The next person might not be as forgiving as me.”

Paulina nodded, barely listening as she looked at the Lady Liberty action figure in its packaging. Already her mind was thinking where the newest addition to her collection would reside on her shelves.

Maia smiled. She would finish settling up with Olga when she got home tonight.

So had pitched the idea to me a while back about Polygirl helping with a prank being the master chemist she is. So I figured sure why not and the story unfolded like this:

And really this is part 3, where Walkiria gets back at Polygirl in a way that's fairly lighthearted. I really do think did a really great job with the render and it could've been worse for him, Hali and Sahlia could've posed together.
