Gaming Stories
Campaign: Star Wars
System: Wizards of the Coast D20 System
Character: Adaavia, Jedi Guardian

So with the release of Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith being released in theaters naturally some people who play Star Wars roleplaying games wanted a campaign that had Order 66 factoring into it somehow, and the good killer GM would set up a situation where all the Force users (potentially Force Monkeys) would come down with a permanent case of dead because of it.  Naturally the players in the group would try their level best to avoid that.

So our group was on Coruscant after completing a mission and after we had finished our Jedi trials, the good news is we all passed them and were considered full Jedi Knights.  However shortly after that happened my character was in the top of the center spire looking out at the city skyline when the GM (Game Master) had me roll to see basically the army coming up the steps like in the movie.  So I see all those troops coming up and I'm thinking that there are way too many troops walking up those steps and everyone in the temple should be alerted to this.  One quick comlink message to one of the other people in the group and I'm starting to head to the hangar bay.  The group had decided that even though it's the Star Wars universe stairs still exist so my character is running down the stairs until the sound of two clone troopers can be heard talking about how hard it was to deal with that youngling that was lying there in front of them.  I knew that the GM was trying to goad me into attacking them but I decided against it, instead I decided to go over to the nearby turbolift and start climbing down the service elevator.  Naturally the door was closed so I figured that with four arms holding four lightsabers would make it easier to cut the door open, and obviously there was an opening a few seconds later.  So I quickly got onto the ladder and started climbing down.  About a minute later as I was climbing down I heard something bouncing off the wall, looking up I saw it was a grenade that someone dropped down the turbolift shaft.  As soon as I realized what it was I had the character slide down the ladder to get away from the explosion and I did well enough that there wasn't any pursuit from clone troopers on the upper levels.

It takes a little while but my character finally makes it to the hangar bay, and some more discretion is called for considering the vulnerable position my character is in.  So I decide to force the doors open instead of cutting through and quietly move to a spot where my character has a good vantage point to take in the area.  The GM said there was a hallway with columns in it leading to the hangar as well as 3 clonetroopers walking down the hallway.  One quick dash behind the backs of the troopers so my character can hide behind a column and the following took place:

Me: I look for a grenade on one of their belts.

GM: Okay make your roll.

*I roll the die and give him my result*

GM: Yeah you see one.

Me: I use Move Object on it.

Another player: But they'll feel it coming off of the belt.

Me: Good thing I'm just using it on the activation lever then.

Rest of the group (especially the GM): …

Me: After I do that I hide behind the column and wait for the explosion.

And a few seconds later the grenade goes off killing all 3 of them.  With that I make my way to the hangar bay and carefully moved in to survey the scene, which looked clear when I got there.  Now at this point the rest of the group is showing up in the hangar bay, one person from the opposite hall and the rest of the group from outside the temple.  So there are two people there able to see the ship from the party as well as two younglings the other guy who was there was able to save when a large squad of clonetroopers bursts into the bay and starts opening fire on the other guy's position trying to pin him down and/or wipe him out.  So the rest of the group gets back and sneaks on the ship before they realize they should try to help him out so they snuck back off the ship and tried to help when I had a chance to go again.

Me: I look for another grenade on another belt.

GM: Roll.

*1 failed and 1 successful roll later*

GM: Yeah…yeah you do.

Me: I use Move Object again.

Me (in character over comlink): When you hear the explosion, make a break to the ship.

BOOM!

Me (in character over comlink): GO!

While the troopers were busy sorting out the chaos, we got onto the ship and made a break away from the temple and the planet as well.  The GM of the game lamented after that session that he didn't get to kill anyone off that session.
Easy now, take it gently, relax...BOOM!...ah hell just run.

Last one of these, played a whole mess of games but only a few stories really stand out. Technically there is at least one more I could do but I don't want to steal that person's thunder since it was someone else's character getting the glory there. Anyway this is one of those stories where having a decent plan to get out of some bad cheese and solid tactics works wonders, basically you're "loading" the dice by doing things that have low target numbers to roll for. Anyway enjoy this one.

The old business would've helped cover her escape if it had to:
